Project Match was founded by Wanda Hill in 1980.  Her objective was to provide underrepresented students access to the high quality academics and character-building experiences provided by boarding schools.  During her twenty-seven (27) year tenure as executive director, Mrs. Hill established Project Match as a premier placement organization, having successfully placed over five hundred (500) students in eighty-four (84) boarding schools around the United States.  Mrs. Hill’s years of dedication to families and strong relationships with boarding school admissions officers and staff is evidenced by our strong brand in the boarding school admissions arena, as well as with feeder programs and schools.  The program is differentiated from other similarly focused organizations because of the consistent level of support and follow-up, a continuum of care given to students from before placement through graduation.

Yvette Ross began as Executive Director of Project Match in September 2007. As a Project Match alumna, she brings a unique understanding of the boarding school experience to the program. Yvette brings ten (10) years of experience in the public sector to Project Match, having worked at a senior level at the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), and in the District of Columbia Executive Office of the Mayor. In both agencies she was responsible for managing and implementing multi-million dollar program budgets. Yvette graduated from Wellesley College with a bachelor of arts in both economics and Africana studies. She also has an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
