What does Project Match do?
Project Match gives students of color unique opportunities for lifelong success. Simply put, we believe better opportunities create better lives. Given the chance, motivated students can succeed as scholars, leaders, and people. Matched with the right environment, students can achieve even more. Project Match endeavors to ensure students are connected to the right opportunities and environments to maximize their growth and development.
Project Match is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of students of color from the Washington, DC metropolitan area that attend boarding schools across the country. Project Match recruits capable students and provides guidance in selecting and applying to boarding school. The program helps students match their academic abilities, interests, and personalities to the appropriate schools. Once students are accepted
to a school, Project Match provides a wide range of supports to ensure students succeed in and out of
the classroom.

Project Match is a highly successful organization
with twenty-seven (27) years of proven results. As a local program, Project Match understands the specific needs of students from the Washington Metropolitan area, and can rapidly respond to families’ needs. No other organization of our type exists. Project Match students and their families have access to an array of hands-on services designed to ensure that their boarding school experience is positive and successful.
Why boarding school?
Traditionally boarding schools have been the training ground for many of our country’s, and the world’s, future leaders. In addition to strong academic programs, the boarding experience instills in students the value of hard work and the importance of character and community as they teach students to think for themselves, to approach life thoughtfully and creatively, to thrive physically, to act morally,
to value the spiritual dimension of human existence, and to serve others. The unique experience boarding schools provide challenges students to reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing environment not always available in traditional day school settings.
